Eramosa relocates London, On office

Guelph, ON, February 16, 2016 – Eramosa Engineering Inc. will soon have a new home in London, Ontario. The international consulting engineering firm announced today the move to a new, larger office under the leadership of Neil Clarke. The shift will accommodate recent staff growth and maintain its presence in the city.

Eramosa recognized with contribution to African project

Eramosa Engineering is thrilled to be recognized for its contribution to a project in Sub-Saharan Africa that won a 2015 Canadian Consulting Engineering Award of Excellence.

This year, 20 projects were recognized with awards and the winners were feted in Ottawa in late October. A joint program of both Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine and the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies-Canada (ACEC/AFIC), the awards are in their 47th year. These accolades are the highest recognition Canadian consulting engineers can receive for completed projects.

Annual MS Bike Tour enters 11th year

Eramosa recently capped off an exciting year of fundraising for multiple sclerosis (MS). Our annual involvement in the MS Bike Tour saw the company participate in four bicycle rides, in two provinces, where we raised over $40,000. The September ride in Toronto wrapped a successful summer of fundraising and biking where the team also participated in first-time rides in Guelph and Calgary. When this year’s pledges are accounted for it will bring Eramosa’s 11 year total to well over $364,000.

Eramosa plays part in award-winning environmental project

Eramosa Engineering is proud to announce that it was part of a team that won the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) Environment Award. The prize was given to the City of North Battleford, SK for their implementation of a Lystek biosolids management solution.

The award for municipalities with a population under 20,000 was announced in June 2015 during CAMA’s national Conference in Jasper, AB. CAMA’s awards program is “designed to encourage excellence in the art of professional municipal administration.” The Environment Award is specifically granted to projects that have made an impact on the environment. The award “recognizes the commitment of a municipality to environmentally sustainable governance, to protecting the environment and to combating climate change.”

ISA authors new standard on alarm management

The International Society of Automation (ISA) announces the publication of the ISA-TR18.2.3-2015 Basic Alarm Design technical report. Released as part of the ISA-18.2 alarm management standards series, the report provides guidance on how to effectively design alarms in accordance with the alarm management lifecycle.

Eramosa involved in three CEO Award Winning projects

Eramosa Engineering is excited to announce that our team was part of three winning projects in the 2015 Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) awards. These three awards brings Eramosa’s total CEO award count to seven.

The 2015 Ontario Consulting Engineering Awards Gala was held on April 18, 2015 at the International Centre in Mississauga, ON. The awards are in their 13th year and they are designed to recognize engineering firms that have provided leadership and innovation to improve the quality of life in Ontario and around the world. The event also marked a special occasion as CEO is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

SMART Data: Preventing data gaps with intelligent PLCs

We recently encountered an interesting challenge when one of our clients needed to ensure that all of their information is being gathered and stored by their SCADA system in the event of a data collection interruption. With a diverse assortment of reporting sites and technologies currently in use, the customer needed a fix that is both reliable for today and into the future. In the end Eramosa Engineering created a robust solution that allows the system to collect and backfill data to a historian during a communication outage without data loss.
