The Region is undertaking upgrades to the Rosehill Water Treatment Plant to replace aging equipment, lower operating and maintenance costs, improve safety and accessibility throughout the plant, and provide suitable working areas for plant personnel.

The project includes construction of a new low lift pumping station to replace the existing, replacement of the existing high lift pumps and backwash pumps, a complete electrical system replacement and a plant-wide SCADA system replacement. An addition to the existing administration area is also being constructed to provide improved control room and office areas as well as a dedicated SCADA server room.

Eramosa’s role on the project includes the complete network, instrumentation and controls, and SCADA system design. The existing PLC5 control panels are being replaced with new CompactLogix control panels connected to a plant-wide fibre optic network consisting of a number of new dedicated network access closets. New fibre optic cabling between the treatment plant building and the new low lift pumping station is also being installed.

The new SCADA network includes wireless access points strategically located throughout the buildings to provide mobile SCADA access throughout the plant. Our team is also providing PLC programming and SCADA system integration services during the construction phase of the project.
