Greenway Pollution Control Centre Expansion

The City of London recently completed an expansion of the Greenway Pollution Control Centre, the City’s largest wastewater treatment facility. The project included a new headworks building, new secondary clarifiers, new return activated sludge pumping station, upgrades to the existing aeration tanks and the addition of split-flow treatment with chemically enhanced primary treatment.

$42M project

170 MLD capacity

7 year project

Eramosa’s role on the project included the complete electrical, instrumentation and controls, SCADA and network design. As part of the design, new 600V switchgear was installed in a main-tie-main configuration to provide redundant feeds to the new RAS pumping station from the existing plant electrical system.

New MCC’s and PLC panels were installed in the new headworks building and RAS pumping station along with new instrumentation connected to the City’s SCADA system using the Profibus communications protocol. Modifications to the existing plant fibre optic network were made to incorporate new equipment and systems. In addition to providing design and construction support services, Eramosa also completed PLC programming and SCADA system integration services on the project.
